Your business model in three sentences

SUSTAYN shapes companies sustainably from the inside out — based on playful knowledge transfer and employee participation. Our platform motivates employees to act sustainably and thereby establish effective & attractive sustainability in companies.

What problem do you solve?

We give employees a right of co-determination in their company's sustainability strategy. By imparting knowledge about sustainability issues playfully, we give them the information they need to participate in decisions. So, we link top-down and bottom-up and implement democratic voting in companies. Our database is filled with 500 sustainability projects that can be filtered by cost, effort, impact, and SDGs. We also have the right partner companies on hand to bring companies into direct action. We playfully shape companies to be sustainable from the inside out.

What's your digital solution?

SUSTAYN is an employee app that primarily functions as a platform. In our feed (similar to Instagram), facts, surveys or infographics on the topic of sustainability are shared every day, which can be liked and commented on as in social media and which sustainability inspire employees for the topic. While reading the posts, SUSTAYNs, our app-internal currency, can be collected. These SUSTAYNs can also be collected at events, challenges or in the analog world. For example, if you take the stairs instead of the elevator. To do this, you scan NFC Chips with your smartphone and the SUSTAYNs land in your account. These can then be paid into the employer's sustainable projects according to the crowdfunding principle, and the employee thus has the opportunity to vote democratically on what should be implemented next in the company for the sustainability transformation.

We should win the award because we are democratically advancing the sustainability transformation in business and getting employees exited about the topic in a playful way in order to achieve the 1.5 °C target. Only together can we shape a sustainable world!
