With its “Digitale Wirtschaft NRW” (Digital Economy NRW) initiative, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia has been gaining momentum as a digital location in recent years. And it wants to encourage even more digital startups going forward. In fact, North Rhine-Westphalia wants to become one of the leading hotspots for startups in Germany and across Europe. And #OOTB, with its final decision and prize-giving at the PIRATE Summit (the foremost event for startups in NRW) is an important new piece in the puzzle. Here we want to briefly introduce you to the other pieces:
The DWNRW hubs in Aachen, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Münster and the Ruhr District are there to help make digital startups successful. They provide impulses for digital business models at established companies and interconnect an NRW-wide startup ecosystem using a broad range of measures. One of these is a platform they have initiated in collaboration with the Digital Hub Cologne and the Founders Foundation called startups.nrw, which gives the digital ecosystem in North Rhine-Westphalia a forum. Apart from that, the DWNRW hubs are our “event world champions”: Hub Battle, A-Summit, Digital Demo Day, RuhrSummit, SummerSlam, etc. all go towards boosting the perception of North Rhine-Westphalia as a hotspot for digital startups and innovations. In our opinion, regionally adapted event formats are necessary in order to integrate the topics“collaboration of digital startups with established companies” and „digitisation“ in the long term. With this point in mind, we have published the DWNRW-RegioEvents funding announcement, which aims to promote a large number of smaller information and networking events in these subject areas. Are you planning an event on the topics of“collaboration of digital startups with established companies” and „digitisation“? Then you can find out if we are able to offer you financial support here!
